ADU Feasibility Lookup
Our website offers a Preliminary ADU Feasibility Guide. If you choose to use it, this is what happens to the information you enter.
What you submit. You enter a property address. Nothing else is required, and you are not asked for your name, email address or telephone number in order to use the tool.
Where it goes. To carry out the lookup, the address passes through Golden ADU’s website and is forwarded to the Los Angeles County Assessor’s public parcel service. Los Angeles County processes that request under its own practices, which are outside our control.
What we keep. Our application does not retain the raw address you typed. Public-record responses from the Assessor may be cached on our server for up to six hours, and unsuccessful lookups for up to ten minutes, so that repeated searches are faster and we place less load on a public government service. That cache is keyed by a non-readable token derived from the address rather than by the address itself.
What we do not do. We do not add the address, the parcel number, the property details or any inferred interest in an ADU to our customer records, our email lists, our advertising or remarketing audiences, or our website analytics. Using the tool does not create an enquiry or a sales lead. A lead is only created if you separately choose to contact us.
Rate limiting. To prevent automated abuse we temporarily count requests using a short-lived, salted, one-way value derived from the requesting network address. It rotates regularly and is not used to build a history of who looked up which property.
Hosting and network logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider, our network security provider and the Assessor’s own systems may record routine technical request information under their standard logging practices. We do not control those logs and therefore cannot state that no record of a request exists anywhere.
Your choices. Using the tool is entirely optional. If you would prefer not to enter your address online, call us on 310-361-1889 and we will discuss your property with you directly.
